Jon Gould Photograph Response

The picture I choose is the top picture of Jon Gould. It is him at the beach, shot from his stomach up. He has a white bead necklace and sunglasses on without a shirt. His hair is slicked back. He has a very greasy look but he seems relatively dry. The sand and water is overexposed and they almost blend into the same shade of white. The man looks like he’s exclaiming something that slightly disgusts him. His tan chest, slicked hair, necklace and wal mart-Esque sunglasses make the aura of the photo seem slightly sleazy. 

I like this because the picture captures an attitude not only of the man but of the environment too. Pictures of people that seem to capture a potential side of their character are powerful in my opinion and this photograph is a good example of it.
